I Didn’t do my Homework Because
Have you ever gone to school without doing your homework? I have! I was nervous and scared that my teacher was going to shout at me. I didn’t do my homework because… by David Cali is full of excuses you can give your teacher.
In the book, I didn’t do my homework because…, the boy’s teacher asked him why he didn’t do his homework. He starts by saying “An airplane full of monkeys landed in our yard.” The boy’s imagination is so good because he gives so many different excuses like the robot which destroyed his house, the giant lizards in his neighbourhood and the problem with the carnivorous plants. My favourite excuse was when he took the penguin to the North Pole first and back to the South Pole. The drawings are also funny. For example, at the North Pole, there is a sign showing No Penguins.
I thought the teacher was going to let him go but the ending is also funny. I will get into trouble if I say any of these excuses but it will be funny to see what my teacher feels. You should definitely read this book because it is hilarious.
