World’s Greatest Entrepreneurs

Children's Book Reviews
Author/Publishers: Wonder House Books
Book Review By: Jeet Nagda
Class: 5

This book is research on 25 greatest entrepreneurs who inspire young children to do something big in life.
Here’s a review on few of these personalities that have inspired me.

Henry Ford – Founder of Ford Motor Company, one of the largest running car companies in America. Henry Ford loved to tinker with machines in his childhood. He used to repair watches and other items of his neighbours and friends. Ford met Thomas Edison who helped him to improve the design of the Quadricycle. He founded the Detroit Automobiles company too. He started racing to build his reputation and changed the face of America.
What I learn from him is to start pursuing your dreams from a young age.

Jeff Bezos – An American entrepreneur who founded Amazon. Amazon quickly became the leading online bookstore. After books, clothes were added and later Amazon Prime was introduced and then Kindle came into existence. Jeff also founded Blue Origin an aerospace company which aims to offer space travel to public.

His quality that I would implement in my life is to always increase your benchmark.

Oprah Winfrey – An entrepreneur, actress and television host. She is known for her famous Oprah Winfrey show. She learnt to read at the age of two. She also launched ‘O’ The Oprah Magazine. She raised millions of money for girls’ education and other charitable work.

What I admire in her is the importance of giving back to the society.

Ratan Tata – An Indian investor and industrialist who is a former chairman of TATA Sons. Under his direction TATA bought TETLEY, JAGUAR, LAND ROVER and CORUS. He also introduced the world’s cheapest car, TATA NANO. TATA’s managed to make Air India profitable.
He invests his time in charity and aims to improve the quality of life for Indians. He received Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan award.

I learn from him to be determined, hardworking and have a strong will power.

Warren Buffet: He is one of the richest men in the world. He started learning about business at a very young age and mastered the art of money and trade.
He bought COCA COLA and later invested in IBM worth million dollars.
He was presented by President Barack Obama for his brilliance in investment business and charity work. Half of his earnings were donated to 5 charity foundations.

What motivates about him is his mission, vision, hard work and focus.

All these personalities have something to teach us which even Bhagwat Gita teaches us – “To do your duties with hard work, have faith in yourself, help selflessly, accept failures and conquer your dreams with efforts and be grateful for what you have.”
I would like to conclude this with a Gita shloka
nehābhikrama-nāśo ’sti pratyavāyo na vidyate sv-alpam apy asya dharmasya trāyate mahato bhayāt
meaning, “No one can stop me from achieving my goals, we are the architect of our own lives and we should not give up.”
It’s a beautiful book and I would recommend to read it.
