Big Nate: Here Goes Nothing
If you are in sixth to seventh grade or maybe 8th grade, you WILL like Big Nate: Here Goes Nothing. If you like baseball or soccer, you will like this Big Nate book because it has Nate’s little league team and his middle school soccer team.
The story is about Nate’s school called P.S 38, which is being closed for some time because of toxic mold being discovered and needing to be cleaned. So, he goes to his archrival school, Jefferson Middle School. Nate will play against Jefferson, and the Jefferson team is trash-talking Nate’s school team, so all of Nate’s team wants to win the game. The game ends 0-0 and goes to penalties, and it’s all up to Nate.
In this book, Nate is dropped at his grandparents’ house to paint the entire house and thinks he will get help, but his uncle Ted will be “helping” him paint the house. Uncle Ted is making hilarious excuses not to help, and Nate is being driven crazy by this.
I like this because I remember I played for a soccer team, and it ended 1-1, and I had to save the team in the end. I’m sure other people can relate, too. Anyway, I recommend the book Big Nate: Here Goes Nothing for people who are in middle school and need an escape from reality. 199313
