King Vikramaditya had been walking for a while now. His bones felt chilled. Whether it was because of the cold air or the eerie sounds of the graveyard, he couldn’t tell. He had marched on this path many times, and yet his mind played tricks on him. But he was not one to give up. So on he went, making sure he not to step on any bones or ashes.
Later, King Vikram righted the burden on his shoulder. The vampire grinned at him from inside the corpse. He ignored it and turned around.
“Aaaah, so you returned!” the vampire sighed. “I’ve heard that you are an intelligent man. But I wonder about you sometimes. Why would you agree to a task such as this? Don’t you think you are wasting your time, Vikrama? Let me tell you the story of a wise judge who doesn’t seem very wise to me. That should help you keep your mind steady as you walk back.”
The vampire began.
