Author: David Walliams Illustrator: Tony Ross Book Review By: Sharanya Swarna Class: 6 |
What do you think would happen if you didn’t brush or visit a dentist for six years?
‘Demon Dentist’ by David Walliams is the story of a twelve-year-old boy named Alfie who has quite ironically not gone to a dentist in absolutely forever. Alfie who lives with his single dad is terrified to the core by the thought of meeting a dentist. As a result, his teeth have grown to become quite a disaster. But one day, Alfie’s life is about to change when a dentist named Mrs Root comes to town and persuades Alfie to book an appointment with her.
If I’m being quite honest, I may have lost count of how many times I’ve re-read this book! It’s the perfect balance of comedy, sorrow and happiness and is an ideal read after a long day. Not only will its humour have you snorting like a pig in no time, but the text editing and artwork just add to the whole experience which is amazing enough, to begin with.
Now on a finishing note, I would like to recommend this book to adults and children of ages 10+ who are looking for their next big read!
