Where’s the Sun?
Where’s the Sun? is a beautiful picture book by Niveditha Subramaniam. The pictures are by the artist called Janu Bhiva Ravate. The art is called Warli and comes from Maharashtra.
A small girl asked mother “Where is the Sun?” Mother did not know where the sun was. They asked many animals and people who lived near them. The artist has painted the place where each animal or person lived. You can see crab, fox, peacock, a lady feeding hundred birds, a lady taking rice, a monkey. In the end they meet a fisherman who pulls the sun from the sea.
There are too many other animal drawings in the books. I looked for the animals with my mother. It is a beautiful book. If you read it you will enjoy it too.
