Inspiring Young Storytellers
We are delighted to announce a creative narrative writing workshop designed for students in classes 4 and 5.
Who doesn’t like to tell a good story? Children are no exception. However, transferring an imaginative tale onto paper can be challenging for children who are still learning the art of story writing.
This workshop is crafted to guide young writers through the process of constructing captivating stories.
Creative Narrative Writing Workshop Structure
Participants will benefit from a series of mini-lessons that focus on essential elements of narrative writing, including:
- Introducing and developing characters
- Establishing setting (where and when)
- Plot development and resolution
- Creating leads and hooks
- Story mapping (beginning, middle, end)
- Writing engaging dialogue
- Practicing “show, don’t tell”
- Exploring perspective and voice
- Crafting effective conclusions
- Using strong vocabulary
Activities and Skill Development
Throughout the workshop, students will participate in group brainstorming sessions, lively discussions, and hands-on writing activities. Emphasis will be placed on editing and refining stories by applying key writing traits.
Workshop Outcome
By the conclusion of the workshop, each student will have completed a story of their own and acquired valuable writing skills to support their continued growth in school. We will email you the Zoom link on October 22nd. This workshop is only for students in classes 4 & 5.
