The Lost Treasure of the Emerald Eye

Geronimo Stilton is the hero of The Lost Treasure of the Emerald Eye. Geronimo Stilton is a mouse. He works as an editor for a newspaper called the Rodent’s Gazette. This is the first time I read a Geronimo Stilton book.

In The Lost Treasure of the Emerald Eye, Geronimo’s sister Thea drags him and their cousin Trap to look for a lost treasure. Thea found a treasure map of the Emerald Eye at a flea market and wants them to help her find it. Geronimo is not happy that Trap is going with them, but when he falls into the ocean, Trap saves him. When they are on the ship, they find out that someone is stealing the food. But it is only his nephew Benjamin. He got on the ship without letting anyone know because he wanted to have adventures, too. And adventures they have! A storm hits them, and the big waves sink their ship, Lucky Lady.

Geronimo sees his trunk floating nearby. He climbs on the trunk and rescues the others. When they reach the island and find the mysterious treasure, the readers will be very surprised.

I don’t like that Geronimo is always complaining.  My cousin is like that. He complains a lot. Thea is more fun because she is very tough. She doesn’t get scared easily and is in the middle of things. I think Trap is also annoying.

I don’t like the main character but the story ending was so surprising. I was not expecting it to happen like that. You must read the book to know what happens. So, the author got me interested in the end. I think I will read another book from the series to see if I like Geronimo any better. The other thing about the book I liked was the pictures and the colour words. It made the book fun to read.
